Most don’t know, but a huge reason we purchased South Georgia Motorsports Park was to help keep Motorsports alive, more specifically, Drag Racing.

We were 4 months away from retirement when Ozzy and Maria Moya presented the opportunity to purchase SGMP. Although retirement sounds great to some, it is not very often that we get the opportunity to purchase a racetrack, much less one we loved for many years. So we jumped in head first and never looked back.

Now almost two years into our journey, we hope we have brought a little bit of happiness to our racers and guests who have visited the park over the last 22 months.

As you visit or race at your next event throughout the country, please remember the sacrifices owners, management, and employees make on a weekly basis for this beautiful industry we call motorsports. We get home with rubber on our face, sore feet, aching backs, and just enough time for a nap because we have to be back bright and early. The upward spiral of drag racing can continue for decades to come if we all work together instead of pulling each other down.

We believe drag racing is currently in a great position and is thriving in many places throughout the country. But to keep that going, it will take every one of us. Support your local racetrack and remember, the majority of you do it for the passion and love for the sport. So come out with a positive attitude and make each day the best possible by being a good human and not tear others down. Too often emotions get the better of some and we get angry in a place where we come to get away from problems. So leave your problems at the gate and allow yourself to becomee that child that enjoyed life to the fullest.

Together, our grandchildren’s grandchildren can enjoy what we all have today in drag racing. The picture below from this weekend solidifies that drag racing is alive and well! SHARE if you believe in our message.
