A heartfelt thank you to Social at the Stone House for helping us celebrate a very special new engagement in our family! 💍✨

Sandy’s team was amazing from the moment we reserved our dinner party. We had hoped for patio weather, but Plan B turned out beautifully in the first-floor dining space.

The service was outstanding, Jackie was wonderful throughout the evening, and the food was absolutely phenomenal.

Most of all, it was a lovely evening celebrating the two who brought us all together for such a special moment. Earlier in the day, the proposal had the most gorgeous backdrop at Gervasi Destinations, and dinner at Social was the perfect way to continue the celebration.

Congratulations Dalton & Kamryn! 💍🥂🍾

Thank you for making the evening feel so special! ❤️

First Friday never disappoints! 🎶🍽️🌆

We kicked off the evening at Canton Marketplace where Naturally Blue Duo had the place rocking. Taste of Stark absolutely loves sponsoring the First Friday Music Series there and we are already working on our 2027 lineup! There’s just something special about live music bringing people together in downtown Canton.

The new menu was a hit too! The hand-breaded chicken tenders and hot fries were exactly what I needed, while others at our table couldn’t stop talking about the wings. We sampled a variety of flavors including Ranch, BBQ, Honey Mustard, Cinnamon Chipotle Dry Rub, and Lemon Pepper Dry Rub — and they definitely lived up to the hype! One of my personal favorites remains the shareable charcuterie boards by GrazeMe Catering Co. — perfect for sharing, and trying a little bit of everything.

After dinner, Laura took us up to the rooftop and wow… what a view, we also enjoyed a 10 year Bourbon that was phenomenal! 🥃

Of course, there was a little adventure mixed in. We were heading down to The Vault when someone accidentally hit the basement button instead of the first floor. Let’s just say we discovered there is absolutely NO way to get to The Vault from that side of the building. Every stairwell seemed to lead to another locked door, and after several wrong turns, we were all laughing hysterically trying to find our way back to the first floor. 🤣

Once we finally escaped we headed out downtown, Jeff and I made our traditional stop at Doc's Bar & Grille. As always, great food and great people. I devoured the Blackened Shrimp Cocktail, and while their new Shrimp & Grits sounds incredible, it was a little too hearty for me that late in the evening. I also loved the new neon sign they recently added!

The perfect ending? 🍪

Fresh sourdough chocolate chip cookies from Dalia’s Delights, made with clean ingredients including unbleached flour. They’re available at Doc’s — 3 for $5 — and trust me, they’re worth every penny.

What a great night supporting local businesses, enjoying live music, and making memories downtown. ❤️

❤️ This is a post I never thought I’d make.

If you know me, you know I’m much more comfortable promoting local restaurants and small businesses than asking for votes for myself.

Today, voting opens for the Stark County Community’s Choice Awards, and I’m incredibly humbled to be nominated as one of the Top 5 finalists for Best Person of the Year.

What started as a passion project in 2020 has grown into a 36,000+ community that helps people discover local restaurants while giving businesses a place to share their stories, specials, and events.

A huge thank you to Atlantic Food Distributors for helping us create a program that offsets 100% of the marketing investment for participating restaurants, and to Nick Andrisin for helping bring those stories to life through his talent.

While you’re voting for your favorite restaurants, chefs, businesses, and organizations, remember voters are also entered for a chance to win $250 just for participating.

If you’d be willing to add Cindy Campbell – Taste of Stark under Best Person of the Year, I would be truly grateful. ❤️

Voting is open June 5–June 19 and you can vote once per day

Congratulations and best of luck to the other “Person of the Year” nominees:
• Caleb Welch – Client-Minds LLC
• Chris Ketler – Krackpots Comedy Club
• Molly Yi – Define You Medical Spa
• Rylie Fuline – Rylie Fuline Photography

Most importantly, thank you to this community. Your support of local restaurants, your recommendations, your shares, and your willingness to show up for small businesses are what transformed a simple passion project six years ago into something much bigger than I ever imagined. ❤️

BIG SHOUT TO Liebermann's and Beyond!!!!! Thank you for taking part in Too Good To Go! ❤️

🚨 Restaurant Owners: What if the food you normally throw away could bring in extra revenue, introduce new customers to your business, AND help reduce food waste?

I recently downloaded Too Good To Go and was surprised to see that locally, the only participating business I found was Circle K. Kudos to them for taking part in a program that’s making a real difference.

📲 Download the app here:
https://www.toogoodtogo.com/en-us

For those unfamiliar, Too Good To Go allows restaurants, bakeries, coffee shops, grocery stores, and convenience stores to sell surplus food at a discount instead of throwing it away. Customers purchase a “Surprise Bag” through the app and pick it up during a designated time window. It’s a simple concept that helps businesses recover some costs while reducing food waste.

Why should restaurants consider it?

✅ Recover revenue from food that would otherwise be discarded
✅ Introduce your business to new customers
✅ Reduce food waste and disposal costs
✅ Support sustainability efforts in your community
✅ Turn excess inventory into additional revenue

As someone who spends a lot of time supporting local restaurants through Taste of Stark, I’d love to see more Stark County businesses explore opportunities like this. Food costs are high. Labor costs are high. Margins are tight. If there’s a way to help both businesses and consumers while keeping good food out of landfills, it’s worth a look.

⚠️ Disclaimer: I am not affiliated with Too Good To Go in any way and have no involvement in their approval process, requirements, or which businesses are accepted to participate. I simply thought it was a great concept worth sharing with our local restaurant community.

And a special thank you to my friend Holly for introducing me to the app! ❤️

🍽️ Customers save money
🏪 Restaurants recover costs
🌎 Less food ends up in landfills

Restaurant owners: Would you consider joining?

And diners: Have you ever used Too Good To Go? What was in your Surprise Bag?
