In the era of fast fashion and AI-generated home decor filling big-box stores, I find myself looking for ways to shop sustainably.

Standard retail stores often fail to offer the exceptional value I find when shopping second-hand. Items such as blouses made with thin fabric or denim that falls apart after the second wash are no longer worth purchasing. In comparison, the items I’ve found at consignment or resale stores have lasted for years in my wardrobe.

Meteor showers occur annually; however, I have yet to see the “shooting stars” for myself.

While I’ve experienced solar and lunar eclipses, being surrounded by light pollution is one of the main reasons I have not experienced this spectacular celestial phenomenon.

I knew if I wanted to see the most dramatic amount of extra-bright glowing trails, then I’d need to be under an open sky and away from the light pollution of Myrtle Beach.
