So thankful to see so many people in Wilkes enjoying this event today!! 😀 A lot of work went on behind the scenes from both Towns for FanFest alone (for months)--It's been a joy to work alongside this crew as always! It's going to be another great weekend in the Boros!!

Join us on Thursday, May 18th, from 4–10 pm for Fan Fest in the ‘Boros!

Fan Fest In The Boros will be the ultimate fan experience for the entire family. Double the fun by experiencing both ‘Boros activities as we celebrate the return of racing at the North Wilkesboro Speedway - events will be held at the Yadkin Valley Marketplace (842 CBD Loop in Downtown North Wilkesboro) and the Carolina West Wireless Community Commons (102 W Main Street in Wilkesboro).

Free event featuring the Hauler Parade, driver interviews, live music, food trucks, family-friendly activities, & more!

The Yadkin Valley Marketplace is Downtown North Wilkesboro’s go-to spot, where our summer concert series, Concerts on the Deck, and the Wilkes County Farmers’ Market are held. For Fan Fest, we will be hosting:
- two concerts, presented by Hadley’s Restaurant and Don’s Char-Grill,
- a Ferris wheel, presented by Champion Towing,
- EA NASCAR racing simulators, presented by Finley Properties,
- RC race track & pit stop challenge
- Selfie Pit Stop, presented by Michael’s Jewelry,
- Driver interviews,
- plenty of food (food trucks will be stationed in the Marketplace from Monday, May 15th to Sunday, May 21st for lunch and dinner)
- And Speedway Children's Charities is holding their co****le tournament on the CBD Loop to kick off All-Star Race Weekend! The winning team will receive tickets to the All-Star Race on Sunday!

“Ward Nichols Way” 🥰
In a short time, Ward has become my good friend—we have shared so many laughs and stories making up for all the years of friendship we have never had the pleasure of having. It is an honor and blessing to help make this happen for such an incredible man. The heart of an artist can be a deep well, I’m so thankful for his lifetime love of the arts and his willingness to share his gifts and talents with the world. The world is a better place because of you, Ward!!
I can’t believe the day is almost here!! Dedication and co-naming of C Street is tomorrow at at 5:30pm.

✨Night Sky Pumpkin Patch ✨
Loving these glowing pumpkins!! Students learned to create with process and mixed media—no easy task for SkyView Art Club!! This fall has been the largest elementary afterschool art class at SkyView with over 20 kids in the art room at one time! 😎

It’s been a week since my dear friend had a major surgery. Never have I met a fighter like her. Last Tuesday, while Kim was having what her doctors were calling “a radical neck dissection” friends and family blew up social media posting photos of themselves wearing t-shirts she designed and had us print specially for her prayer warriors. A day later, she went home, hit the hammock and has been gaining strength day by day ever since. So thankful for the God who hears our prayers and carries us through our weakest moments. It wasn’t the strength of the stone David launched at Goliath, but the faith he ran with toward Goliath and the Hand who delivered Goliath at David’s feet.

In July, I taught a Team-building Pottery Class at to some of the Deans and Administration of Wilkes Community College and their satellite campuses. We talked about the foundations of clay and handbuilding and how it relates to humanity and leadership. By the end, they came out with coiled cylinders of all different shapes and styles. Here was a quick group shot and a few of the first pieces pulled from the kiln this weekend! Aren’t these coiled clay pieces awesome?! 👏
