What If? – A Les Stern Holiday Musing
What if:
Your eyes light up when you see the joy of your children, grandchildren and other family members opening their gifts?
You donate a toy, clothing or other gift to someone less fortunate than you, so there eyes can light up?
If you worship, you do so meaningfully…and safely?
You have a festive holiday dinner with family and friends, be it ham, fish, creole, catfish or latkes (which I prefer with applesauce)?
You buy some extra food and donate it to a food pantry or other organization so others can enjoy a festive dinner?
If you are Jewish, you either stream or see a great movie on Christmas? And you don’t have to wait forever for your Chinese takeout?
If you are Christian, you leave out milk and cookies and Santa really does show up?
You have the best Christmas tree on the block?
Your dreidel always comes up "gimmel," because "hey", it's better than a kick in the "shin" at high “noon”?
If you travel, you travel safely and the weather is warm or the snow is powdery?
If you don’t travel, you have a great staycation and if it snows, your snow blower works or the snowplow service shows up? (And if you shovel, please be careful)
2024 turns out to be your best year ever…with nothing but health and happiness for you and your family?
I hope all my musings come true. Merry Christmas. Happy Hanukkah. Happy Kwanzaa. And a (very) belated Happy Diwali. May 2024 be your best year ever.
