Four Star Marketing was founded by Will Moss in 1972 (when Nixon was president and Apollo 16 landed on the moon)! Will served as a soldier and a cartoonist in the air force during World War II, creating humor when the troops needed it most. After the War, Will tried many things, including drilling oil wells in Kentucky and southern Illinois. After figuring out that is costs 25 dollars to pump 20 d
ollars worth of oil, it was off to the next venture! Rick Moss, used to sit on his father, Will's, lap in the basement, as he created newspaper movie ads for a movie theater chain. Four starts was the highest rating, and Will promised his son, Rick, that one day we would start a company called Four Star Marketing, with the highest quality and rating, just like the greatest movies. When Will placed a blind ad in Advertising Age Magazine, his career launched with a promotional advertising agency, creating character promotions for Jewel food stores and helping to promote popular children's TV characters. Will used his creativity to publish childrens' books, board games, and even sweep stakes games that were televised. Together, Will and Rick marketed bank deposit programs that financial institutions used to give out as gifts when you made deposits. The basement became Will's office, out went the ping-pong table, and the garage quickly filled with toasters and umbrellas! Rick, was just 17 years old, and helped out by making cold calls from a card table in his bedroom, using a telephone directory and a rotary phone. There were no computers, no internet, no cell phones, and no fax machines...just a vision, determination, hard work, and a commitment to complete customer satisfaction. This is what built our business, and this is who we are. Welcome to Four Star Marketing! For more information, please visit our website at www.conventionbags.com
