🚨 BIG NEWS 🚨

The State Historic Preservation Office has approved the expansion of the Broad Street-Main Street Historic District in Downtown Norwich! This expansion adds 28 resources to the district, and now includes S Broad Street between Main and Hayes Streets. The nomination was submitted by the City of Norwich, with support from Clinton Brown Company Architecture, after the city was awarded a Preserve NY grant last year.

Property owners within a historic district only experience benefits! Tax credits and access to grant programs for rehabilitation/improvements become available, and the historic designation does not entail any restrictions.

Downtown Norwich, and immediately adjacent, includes five sites on the National Register of Historic Places, a few of which are included in the existing historic Courthouse District.
