A selection from a portfolio of monotype watercolors celebrating the many colors of Mexican maíz (corn). Mexico is the center of origin and diversity of corn and the diversity dictated by the colors that appear on the cobs is even greater. Octavio Paz said that the invention of corn by Mexicans is only comparable to the invention of fire.

Hello dear Westchester parents,
This Saturday July 19th - I will be at the Hastings Farmers Market running an easy art class for children 7-12, sketching vegetables and produce with watercolors: two sessions 60 min: one at 10am and another at 11 - limited to 8 kids. You can rsvp with [email protected] or at the entrance tent.
