🏁 Driver Spotlight: Drake Cardey 🏁
California’s Drake Cardey is one of the most promising young dirt racers in the country. Following in the footsteps of his father, former California Lightning Sprint champion David “Dynamite” Cardey, and usac cra standout. Drake has climbed the ranks from karting and Speedway Sprints into Lightning Sprints and the USAC Western States Midget series.
His rise has been incredibly fast. In 2025, Cardey earned California Lightning Sprint Rookie of the Year honors while finishing second in the championship standings. By 2026, he had already claimed his first USAC Western States Midget feature victory in just his fourth career start. He didn’t stop there—later in the season he picked up a second USAC victory at Santa Maria Speedway and moved into the championship points lead.
