Normally, I wouldn't share something like this, but I felt it might help someone out there. Yesterday, after having dinner with my family. I found myself caught up in my thoughts, stressing over personal matters. While I stopped at a red light, I noticed an older gentleman with a dog, asking for money. He had a sign claiming he was a U.S. veteran and what really struck me was the joy on his face. He was sitting on a bench, enjoying a meal with his dog, holding a sign asking for help.
It made me pause and reflect. Here I was, worrying about things in my life, when in reality, I already have everything I need, health, family, and so much more.
In that moment, I felt humbled. As a person of faith, I sometimes forget to give my struggles to God, trying to carry everything on my own. But even if you're not spiritual, I believe the lesson here is universal. There are people out there who might wish they had your problems. Often, we lose sight of how fortunate we truly are and focus on the wrong things.
So today, take a moment to reflect. Be grateful for what you have, because others might see your situation as a blessing.
"Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Matthew 6:34
