It’s Women’s History Month! Artsy Geek is a woman-owned business and is proud to continue adding women to our ranks whenever possible. We’re constantly inspired by the women around us and who came before us. In this bleak moment in time, let’s lift our eyes up to the people who make us want to be better. Learn more about our role models below:
Frances Perkins - As the woman behind the New Deal, she dramatically reshaped the American economy, standing up for workers’ rights and ensuring we all had a social safety net... for awhile, anyway. Here’s hoping we follow in her footsteps in the future!
adrienne maree brown - author, healer, theorist, poet, advocate, icon.
Claudia Sheinbaum - A polymath for the modern era: climate scientist turned president of Mexico. May she lead us ever onward toward an era of leadership defined by verified expertise and thoughtfulness.
Alice “Merlie” LaTorraca - Designer Jenn’s late grandma from her dad’s side (she would have been 102!). She was an amazing woman with a kind and open heart towards everyone regardless of color, gender, etc. She’s also the direct inspiration for Jenn to do a bus build and travel the US!
