🐾📣 BULLDOG MARKETING UPDATE! 📣🐾
We wanted to take a minute to introduce you to the two young women behind Bulldog Marketing this year — and give our local businesses and nonprofits a little peek behind the scenes!
Eckels Memorial Library, in partnership with IJAG and our schools’ Work-Based Learning program, is excited to continue Bulldog Marketing, a student-run marketing business designed to give our students real-world experience while helping promote the amazing businesses and organizations in our community.
This year, we have TWO SENIORS taking on the challenge:
⭐ Kayden Schnack — NHS, Track, Basketball & Softball
⭐ Sydney Sommers — Basketball, Volleyball & VERY active in our community
These girls are busy. REALLY busy. 😂 Between school, activities, sports, work, family and everything else that comes with being a senior, they are still making time to learn the world of marketing and help our local businesses and nonprofits.
And the best part for our local organizations?
👉 Bulldog Marketing is FREE!
That means you get two hardworking young women gaining real-world experience while helping your business or nonprofit with marketing, social media, ideas, content and more — all while giving them the opportunity to build skills they can carry with them after graduation. ❤️
💰 A question I have received quite a bit: “How can we pay them?”
First of all, thank you for even asking! It means a lot that our local businesses want to recognize the time and effort these girls are putting into this.
Because Bulldog Marketing is part of their educational/work-based learning experience, we are not charging businesses for their services.
However, if your business or nonprofit feels that Kayden or Sydney has done an amazing job and you would like to recognize their hard work, you are welcome to compensate them directly with a monetary gift to the student.
We are also looking into how we might establish a scholarship fund in the future, giving local businesses another way to support these students as they continue their education.
And honestly, there is another BIG way you can support them...
📝 Letters of Recommendation
Letters of recommendation are HIGHLY encouraged! ❤️
These girls are seniors, which means they are entering the world of college applications and scholarship applications.
If you work with Kayden or Sydney and feel they have done a great job, please consider writing them a letter of recommendation. A local business or nonprofit being able to speak about their work ethic, communication, creativity, responsibility, professionalism and willingness to learn can be incredibly valuable as they apply for scholarships and colleges.
Sometimes the best thing we can give our kids isn't money — it's someone willing to say, “I worked with her, I saw what she could do, and I believe in her.” ❤️
📋 And yes…we have A LOT of you!
Every interest form that has been submitted has been looked at, organized and entered into our system. We currently have roughly 125 local businesses and nonprofits on our list! 😳❤️
So if you filled out a form and Kayden or Sydney haven't reached out yet — PLEASE BE PATIENT! They will get to you!
Remember, they are two high school seniors trying to balance this project with school, sports, activities, jobs and LIFE. 😂 They are working their way through the list as they can.
This is brand new for all of us, and we are figuring things out as we go. There will be changes, adjustments and probably a few “well, let's try it this way!” moments along the way. 😉
We appreciate your patience, your encouragement and, most importantly, your willingness to give these girls a chance to learn.
This isn't just about marketing a business.
It's about giving our students real-world experience, connecting them with the community, building confidence and showing them what they are capable of.
And we are pretty darn excited to see what these two Bulldogs can do! 🐾❤️
