Happy Kalaversary, Anna!
Kalamuna is a constellation of stars. But even the brightest light can spin wildly out of orbit and drift slowly into chaos if the center does not hold. The wilderness overruns everything when an organizational principle is weak or absent. This is what Anya provides for us. She is our center, exerting a gravitational pull bringing our stars into picture-perfect alignment.
Perhaps the closest approximation to the absence of gravity that many of us will experience is found floating in placid waters. That mild weightlessness might be something of what it is like in Anya’s care because she assumes all the heaviness as her burden, so that others may rise.
What can be found in all that darkness enveloping space? She will explore it with you, energized by her own endless discipline as an autodidact, but by also nurturing your own inner light. A star, after all, needs fuel. And to sustain life, it must burn not too hot, not too cold. Anya knows this balance. She helps each of us cultivate decision trees that root our own sustainable systems with solutions reaching toward the sublime. Wherever we come from, whatever our celestial gardens grow, she knows, “It is our choices that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities.”
What must a young Dumbledore or Yoda have been like at the beginning of their legends, nearer to the beginning of their prime than the end? In Anya, our imagination sees layers of pop mythology made into tangible reality. It would be easy to see Anya helming a university of wizards, a Jedi Council, or perhaps something entirely her own. We may be developers, designers, digital strategists—but under her guidance, we exist within a lineage to a deeper craft. Every project carries her imprint. Every project has her gravity. Every project has her sorcery.
