Over the past few months, I’ve had a lot of conversations with business owners who don’t necessarily need a full retainer or long-term consulting; they need help getting unstuck.

On Tuesday, I began my presentation, Small Systems, Big Impact, at the Women & Leadership Symposium at UW-Madison with this:
“I believe time is our most precious resource, so you choosing to spend an hour with me is something I never take for granted.”

This event reminded me why I love speaking.

The room was engaged. People asked thoughtful questions, filled pages of their worksheets, and generously shared their own experiences. It felt less like a presentation and more like a conversation between super smart people!

My hope is that everyone left with one reminder:
You don't have to do everything.

Choose what matters. Protect time for it. Take one small step forward.

Thank you to everyone who joined me (especially Susie Moon !) and to the organizers for the opportunity. I'm grateful to have been part of such a wonderful event.

I'm excited to be speaking at the Women and Leadership Symposium at the University of Wisconsin–Madison on Tuesday, July 14!

My breakout session is Small Systems, Big Impact: How Busy Leaders Stay Focused and Move Work Forward.

I'll be sharing the systems, habits, and routines that help me run a business, write a novel, volunteer in my community, and still work just three days per week. More importantly, I'll share practical ideas that busy leaders can adapt to their own lives and work.

Nine years ago, I started a business called CL Content Marketing.

At the time, it fit perfectly. I was helping clients with content creation, SEO, blogs, newsletters, and marketing ex*****on.

But over the years, something shifted.

The work became less about creating content and more about helping people find clarity.

Helping business owners figure out where to focus.
Helping them simplify their marketing.
Helping them create systems and plans they could actually follow.
Helping them move forward with confidence.

As I looked at the next chapter of my business, I realized I had outgrown the old name.

So after a lot of thought (and probably too much overthinking), I'm excited to share that CL Content Marketing is becoming.... *drumroll*

The services aren't disappearing. I'm still helping clients with marketing strategy, visibility, SEO, and business growth.

But this change creates space for everything I do under one roof, including speaking, writing, and some exciting author projects in the works.

Turns out the common thread wasn't content marketing, it was me.

It was helping people find clarity and focus on what matters most.

I'm grateful to everyone who has been part of this journey so far, and I'm excited for what's next.

Last week, I presented at a virtual conference, but it’s not the topic you might think!

In 2020, I had my first daughter, and I realized I didn’t want to work as much as I had been. My dream was to work LESS, yet earn the same income. It seemed impossible, but I knew that I could do it.

Fast forward to today, I work just three days per week, yet my business generates a full-time income. How did I do it? Basically, I set my priorities, protect my time, and break down my projects into bite-sized pieces. It sounds simple, but it works for me.

I shared all this with and didn’t see anything special about it. It was simply a decision I made and set out to make it happen. She is the one who told me that it was actually very cool and that sharing my story could help others. Thank you, Susie, for encouraging me to share my story!

She connected me to Amber Stancher, lead organizer for the Wisconsin Women in Higher Education Leadership WWHEL Conference, where I was able to present on this topic and share my story! It was a little different than what I normally would speak about, but I had a lot of fun.

Guys, I stayed up past my bedtime for you!

Yup, I stayed up late to record this podcast with Ina J… and it turned into such a great conversation.

We started with content strategy for photographers, but like most good conversations, we went off on a few tangents:
– How SEO and GEO actually works in 2026
– charging what you’re worth
– using AI as a tool (not a replacement)

Ina asked such thoughtful questions, and it ended up being one of those conversations that just flows.

I had a great time speaking with the Delafield Area Chamber of Commerce the other week! The title of my talk was "Stop Treating LinkedIn like Social Media."

WHAT??
I think we should all treat LinkedIn as a networking room, not as social media.

It’s not about posting constantly or going viral. It’s about showing up, starting conversations, and building real relationships over time.

I think it sparked some good discussion!
