A few nights ago, after bath and jammies with my kids. I had a spontaneous idea to go and take pictures of the sun set. I packed the girls up and drove to the closest most beautiful place I know, Antelope Island. I live pretty close, so it was a quick commute. I was going to just stop at the parking lot before the gates, but something kept pushing me to keep driving. So, I pay the fee and drive in. The sun was setting, and I looked at the most heavenly views of what God has created and said out loud to my late husband, "it's almost like I'm watching a little glimpse of Heaven with you." The second I said that the song "Heaven Without you" from Alex Warren comes on and never hearing it before it was almost like he was talking to me.
"Darling, you're my last destination. What if I go first, and my angels still on earth? I'll wait outside the gates till you're there too. Cause Heaven won't be Heaven without you."
I step out of my car after the song ended with tears still in my eyes watching the coolest sunset with all the birds flying around. snapped a bunch of amazing pictures. and the best part was my daughters were there to experience watching life through Gods eyes. As we got in the car to leave my 2-and-a-half-year-old daughter pointed at the sky and said "Thats Jesus, up in the sky." I asked you see Jesus? She says, "Yes! up there with daddy." The way I felt sadness and love all at once Was a strange feeling. Greif never goes away. It lingers and it catches you when you don't expect it. that empty feeling will always be there, but it brings me joy when I get signs from him. And with my love of Jesus, I will be able to see him again one day. And that keeps me going.
