We do not recommend the use of FedEx Ground . They have no contingency plan in place to deliver packages when a subcontractor goes out of business or quits (those actually doing the deliveries). Tracking will show the package is "on FedEx vehicle for delivery" day after day, when in fact it's sitting in the distribution hub with thousands of other boxes that are also not being delivered. Customer service at the national level will swear that it's "delivering today" because all they know how to do it look at the same tracking page available to the general public, and are unwilling, or unable to investigate further. Locally, FedEx Ground are unwilling to locate your shipment and pull it for pickup at the hub. Lucky for us we have some great suppliers that are willing to re-ship product via overnight service to bypass the Ground distribution hub.

Prices of consumables are on the rise. We just received an e-mail from Veritiv (one of the few paper distributors in Utah) with copies of letters from about 10 different suppliers announcing their price increases ranging from 3-6%.

Any orders using paper we already have in inventory will be priced using the 2018 rates.

The annual UPS rate increase has been announced. FedEx has similar increases.

The following changes will take effect on December 26, 2018:

• The rates for UPS® Ground, UPS Air and International will increase an average net 4.9%.

• UPS Air Freight rates within and between the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico, will increase an average net 4.9%.

Comcast continues to ignore consumer preferences and use unsubstantiated "green" marketing slogans about print and paper.

Paper costs are on the rise due to domestic paper mills either closing, or switching their production to different types of products like liner board and personal care products. 2017 saw a reduction of domestic printing paper capacity by 1.1 million tons. This lower supply drives up costs. i.e. Appvion a maker of carbonless paper announced a 6% increase going into effect next week. Other paper is seeing a lower increase of 2%.
