Don’t worry, we all question ourselves……
Are we sending our kids on the right path? Always thought at times my kids were acting out, just wanting attention. Lashing out. Feeling they are mad at the world. I even ran through so many different scenarios in my head. Or if theyre was struggling inside 💔…… even if they are struggling deep inside. Want to make sure they can come to us and express what they feel without being afraid. Always remember to be engaged on setting limits is important. Raising the cost of misbehavior can influence children’s actions, even though younger children may struggle with emotional regulation. Because their emotions are still developing, they might not immediately connect consequences with their actions. However, as children grow older and their cognitive and emotional skills improve, they become more responsive to boundaries. Setting consistent limits helps raise the perceived cost of misbehavior, encouraging older children to engage in more appropriate behaviors and self-regulate more effectively. How else feel this important?

Accepting our children means slowing down — being still, being quiet. It means truly listening — with our eyes, our hearts, and our faces. We follow their lead, notice what they’re doing, and describe it simply: ‘You’re stacking the blocks so carefully.’ We mirror their words or gently paraphrase their feelings: You didn’t like that… it was too loud. This kind of presence says, ‘I see you. I hear you. You matter.’ Acceptance begins with connection.
