I'm walking into 2023 with a clear heart and mind...If you owe me, don't worry about it - you're welcome...If you've wronged me, it's all good - a great lesson learned...If you're angry with me, you've won...If we aren't speaking, it’s cool (I wish you well) and I want you to be GREAT....If you feel I wronged you, and you have told everyone but me...peace be onto you....Life is too short for me to have penned-up anger, holding grudges.... Here's to 2023!!!... Love to all. 🙏❤️🙏

Another holiday met with tragedy. This Christmas Day, the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office is mourning the loss of Corporal Ray Hamilton who was tragically murdered on Christmas Eve while responding to a Domestic Violence/Active Shooter call. Our thoughts and prayers go out to OCSO as they mourn his loss.

From OCSO:

An Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office deputy lost his life Saturday December 24th when a domestic violence suspect opened fire on responding deputies from inside his residence.
Five year OCSO veteran Corporal Ray Hamilton, a member of the OCSO Special Response Team, succumbed to the shooting injury shortly after 3 p.m. at Fort Walton Beach - Destin Hospital. The suspect, 43-year old Timothy Price-Williams was hit with return fire from deputies, sustaining a non-life-threatening injury to his arm.
Deputies had been called to the townhome at 710 North Park Boulevard in reference to a report of a domestic violence battery. The victim reported Saturday morning that Price-Williams had slapped her in the face and shoved her during an argument the night before, taking away her phone so she could not call 9-1-1 for help.
When deputies went to the scene around 9 a.m. Saturday to make contact with Price-Williams, he refused to come out of the residence. The OCSO Special Response Team was called in. Price-Williams continued to refuse to leave the home, and then shot out a window around 12:40 p.m., striking Corporal Hamilton.
"We are devastated by the grief of losing Corporal Hamilton, a deputy who was a ray of sunshine in the OCSO, dedicated to protecting others," said Sheriff Eric Aden. "We appreciate the endless stream of words of support that have come in for his family and his co-workers as we face this heartbreaking loss of a profoundly loved and respected friend, public servant, and hero ."

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Okeecbobee County Sheriff’s Office as they mourn the loss of Sergeant Cari Arnold.

Sergeant Arnold was the School Resource Officer supervisor for the county and absolutely loved her job. On the morning of 12/19/2022, she lost her battle with cancer. She will be missed by the entire community.

This design hits close to home for me as I personally knew Cari. She was a great person and I know that many are grieving her loss. I hope this design in some small way helps honor her service and life.

On December 3, 2022, Deputy Austin Walsh and his roommate, also a Brevard County Deputy, just finished playing a video game. Afterward, Austin's roommate was playing with a handgun he believed was unloaded. He pointed it at Austin and pulled the trigger. Deputy Walsh died as a result.

"Deputy Austin Walsh was 23 years old and was a treasured member of our BCSO Family!! Austin served as a member of our agency since he was 18 and prior to that served for several years as a member of our Explorers program.
At this time, we ask that you keep Austin, his family, our agency, and our entire community in your thoughts and prayers as we collectively face the most difficult of times!!" - Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey

This Thanksgiving Day we mourn with the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office. Our thoughts and prayers go out to them and the family of Deputy Christopher Taylor, EOW 11/22/2022.

From CCSO: On the evening of November 22, 2022, Deputy Christopher Taylor #3624, was fatally struck by a suspected drunk driver. Life-saving measures were given on the scene by Good Samaritans and later by Taylor's brothers and sisters in green. Deputy Taylor was trauma transported to Punta Gorda ShorePoint Health and regrettably succumbed to his injuries.
The driver, identified as 30-year-old Cassandra Smith (11/20/92), called 911 after losing control of her jeep and veering across three lanes into the shoulder striking the deputy. Smith was taken into custody by Florida Highway Patrol and transported to the Charlotte County Jail on DUI Manslaughter.
"In his little less than a year of service to Charlotte County, Chris exemplified the core values of the CCSO; Integrity, Professionalism, and Trust. Chris just celebrated his 23rd birthday on Saturday. Losing a deputy is unspeakably difficult for the agency, but the passing of such a promising and kind young man is a tremendous loss for the world," shared Sheriff Bill Prummell.
Details regarding services will be forthcoming. Please keep the family and friends of Deputy Taylor in your thoughts and prayers as we mourn the loss of our brother. His kindness, dedication, and service to his community will never be forgotten.
