Running into 2022 challenges like... 😅 What kind of terrain are you navigating in your business these days? For us, it's been settling into a new office and scrapping our new website wireframes for the umpteenth time.
While we may be preoccupied in the short-term, we've always got our sights set ahead. So, we thought we'd share some marketing trends we're expecting to see in 2022.
📝 Content
Your brand is now (and increasingly so) defined by what it stands for: your company culture and values. The benefits of your products and services are secondary. Across the board, we're seeing tone of voice becoming more and more laid back. This means more casual words, leeway for humor and human-friendly language.
🛑 Privacy
While third-party data isn't disappearing anytime soon, it'll be much harder to go about targeting. For budgeting purposes, leave some wiggle room for your customer acquisition costs, and watch your conversion rates closely.
🗣 Accessibility
It's predicted that three-quarters of U.S. households will own a smart speaker in 2022. We're expecting voice search have a big impact on search queries. To optimize your website for this, consider using longer, more natural-sounding phrases that people use in everyday conversation. Whenever people type, they tend to abbreviate.
🤖 Artificial Intelligence
Google unveiled its AI algorithm a few years back (RankBrain) and our theory is that it'll start playing a more prominent role in SERPs. While Google has been pretty hush-hush about it, we believe user experience signals will be the primary determinant. That means keeping a close eye on click-through rates, time spent on-page, and user navigation.
