BIG NEWS: Curbside is becoming its own nonprofit! 🎉
After more than a decade of incubation, Curbside is officially spinning off from The Homeless Alliance and becoming its own 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Starting April 1, we’ll begin operating independently as Curbside Enterprises.
Since launching in 2013, Curbside has grown under the Homeless Alliance’s incubation, with the goal of one day standing on its own. That vision is now a reality. As both organizations have grown over the years, this next step allows each of us to focus more fully on our missions and better serve our community. For more than a decade, we have grown together, helping our city better understand and respond to homelessness. The Homeless Alliance’s partnership has been foundational to our story, and we are forever grateful. 💚
Thirteen years later, Curbside has grown into something far beyond what we could have imagined — something shaped not just by us, but by an entire community that chose to believe in this work. What started as the Curbside Chronicle street paper has grown into a broader social enterprise network with the addition of Curbside Flowers, Curbside Apparel, and Sasquatch Shaved Ice. Today, more than 200 people each year gain and maintain housing through Curbside’s programs, earning more than $1 million annually through our employment initiatives.
As we step into this next chapter, your continued support matters more than ever. Curbside relies on donations to support the social service side of our work — things like job coaches, housing case managers, training supplies, IDs, and rental deposits. These services are essential to helping people move from employment into long-term stability and housing.
