Meet Jessica Mayfield, our Content + Storytelling Specialist!

Since she was little, Jessica’s family sojourned to a new place every couple of years, but always returned to their roots in Oklahoma. She graduated from Edmond North High School in ‘06 and graduated from college in Texas in ‘09 with a BA in Advertising and Public Relations and a minor in Communications. She’s carried on the tradition of bopping in and out of Oklahoma over the years, but she loves the friendships and home they’re building in Oklahoma City today. The walkable proximity to all of her favorite restaurants in the Paseo is what really does it for her.

Over the past 12 years, she’s been a leader, storyteller and content creator on behalf of many different brands: from Fortune500, to an entrepreneur for her own creative small business, and on behalf of other brands. These experiences have helped shape her into a thoughtful and intuitive creative and writer. Her work has been featured by Martha Stewart Living, Darling, State Bags, Brides, Style Me Pretty, The Knot, Etsy Journal, Free People, Town and Country, HOUZZ and West Elm.

Compassion, connection and curiosity are a guide for Jessica and her work. She believes that beautiful and thoughtful content should be inviting, and leave others feeling embraced and connected. Her relational and tenderhearted attentiveness helps her to capture the personality, nuance and character of the brands and entrepreneurs she supports.

Jessica delights and draws inspiration from seeking out beauty in nature, play, poetry, design, family adventures and relationships. She cherishes her time with her three kids and husband, Garett, the most. She’ll be forever trying to orient their days toward what feels kind, beautiful, silly, and like sunshine on the shoulders.

In her book, “Wintering: The Power of Rest and Retreat in Difficult Times,” Katherine May writes, “Plants and animals don’t fight the winter; they don’t pretend it’s not happening and attempt to carry on living the same lives that they lived in the summer. They prepare. They adapt. They perform extraordinary acts of metamorphosis to get them through. Winter is a time of withdrawing from the world, maximizing scant resources, carrying out acts of brutal efficiency and vanishing from sight; but that’s where the transformation occurs. Winter is not the death of the life cycle, but it’s crucible… doing those deeply unfashionable things—slowing down, letting your spare time expand, getting enough sleep, resting—is a radical act now, but it is essential. This is a crossroads we all know, a moment when you need to shed a skin. If you do, you’ll expose all those painful nerve endings and feel so raw that you’ll need to take care of yourself for a while. If you don’t, then that skin will harden around you.”

Say hello to Blakely Hiner, Creative Services + Special Projects!

Blakely was born in Stillwater, and grew up in Colorado. She returned to her roots in Stillwater, where she completed school at OSU. She earned a Bachelors in Interior Design & Merchandising in 2015, before moving to Oklahoma City with her husband.

She brings all the dynamic sides of herself to her work at BNT and Co. She has a flawless eye for clean, holistic design. Truly, loves a moodboard and daydreaming of interiors. Let her whip up a beautiful web design, some thoughtful content, or a top notch playlist. For all the beauty and inspiration, Blakely keeps it balanced by also appreciating a good excel sheet.

She feels passionate and deeply creativity when she gets the opportunity to establish the brand for a new business or entrepreneur. Having been on the other end of a creative studio, as she developed the brand concept, interior buildout and ownership of two retail shops in Oklahoma City, she relishes in the opportunity to hone in on what makes each brand unique and attractive to their ideal clientele. She loves working within a team of wonderfully talented women, and feels proud of the unique gifts each person brings to BNT and Co.

Outside of BNT and Co, she fills her days in the sweetest way, with her three year old, Archie. She loves flipping back and forth between her most-used TV apps, Criterion & TCM, and daydreaming of her next trip!

Annum, latin for the word “year”, is a time repose and respite. It’s time for us to take cues from the natural world and embrace wintering.

We’re rejecting the idealized and over-glorified “new year, new me” plugging, and instead we’re coddling what feels most true and natural in this season. We’re leaning into the season rather than just trying to endure it. Just like winter lulls the world around us into a period of comfort and hibernation, this is our time to rest, reflect and renew. We’ll save our list making and our goal getting for Ostara, or spring. This winter we’re going to heal.

So we’ll stay curled up under our cozy pile of blankets, while our hearty stews slow cook on the stove, we’ll light our slow burning incense, and read that book. We’ll listen for the ease our bodies are asking of us, whether it’s whispering for a nap, a walk in the winter sun, or the warmth of friends. We’ll nourish what puts a glow in our heart. Turning our attention to being and feeling, rather than doing.

We’ll let this season be the vessel of our being and healing. We’ll trust this wintering will be full of wisdom. When things begin to blossom and burst come spring, we’ll know this tranquil season of belonging to ourselves was for our good.
