CAN YOU SHARE POSTS FROM PRIVATE FACEBOOK GROUPS?

Lots of clients and friends ask about making posts in Private Facebook Groups sharable. Posts in closed groups exclude the “share” option to prevent you from sharing another member's private information. It would be counterproductive to keeping a group private if you were to share posts from fellow members. However, you can share external (public) content that might be contained within the post despite the lack of a share option. You just copy the sharable portion of the post (e.g. link to an external source) and paste that into a new post on your timeline or other group page. Bada boom, bada bing.

IS OUR SICK WORLD GIVING YOU BRAIN FOG?

Can barely finish a project without checking news or social media to see what is going on in this crazy world? Here are some tips that can help you stay focused:

1. Set goals and keep task lists. It feels good to mark those off the list when completed.
2. Don't multi-task. Finish one task before beginning another.
3. Try to limit watching or listening to the news during business hours.
4. Don't get bogged down in doom surfing on social media. I don't know about you, but it's hard not to jump in and speak your mind during this great divide. Word to the wise - don't get caught up in doing it during the work day. It will suck your valuable work time.
5. Take good care of yourself. If you workout routinely, don't stop. Get plenty of rest. Eat well.
6. Listen to uplifting music.
7. Still struggling to stay focused: pray, pray, pray!

Good news for small businesses! While the US government deadline to apply for PPP money officially expired on August 8, 2020, it was just announced that it's likely additional loans will be available soon. If you did not get in on the first two waves of PPP loans, go ahead and apply now so you'll be in a good position for the next opening.

Tips for surviving not just the pandemic, but all of the turmoil in this world:

Stay focused. Don't get distracted reading all of the negative rants.

Unplug from the news every few days to reset your mind and focus on those things that are important to keeping you and your business healthy.

You may have to rethink your business strategy because products and services you offered in the past may no longer be viable. Get creative.

Tomorrow is the deadline for the PPP loans. If you are eligible and haven't submitted your paperwork, do it today.

Don't get embroiled in the divisiveness. Keep a level head. Be respectful of differing opinions while maintaining your own in a civil manner.

Be cautious of what you post on social media. Temper your words carefully before posting commentary. Believe it or not, your social media comments could make or break current client or prospective client relationships.

Above all, PRAY. We all need guidance from a higher power and particularly in this day and age when up is down, and down seems to be up.

It will be a GREAT DAY when we hear the words post-COVID-19. We will get through this.
