We’re enjoying shooting in this beautiful fall weather after the crazy heat this summer. Last week we had a beautiful day in Carlton Landing shooting video and still photos for Pella Windows and Doors's Pella on Pistache “idea house” now under construction. The window technology going on display here is really quite amazing and beautiful. Great clients and fun work!

Is that enough gear you think? Just unloaded for another video shoot. 3 cameras. 3 tripods. 4 lamps. 1 camera rail … and not in the photo but most importantly, a tall cup of coffee. ☕️🙂👍 Let’s do this!

Often, the creative process requires, well, creativity in solving problems. For example, today we were shooting a product demo out in the field and the GoPro we were using to capture timelapse, due to its black color and the summer heat, overheated and powered off. So we rigged a collapsible white balance card to shield the GoPro from the sun. It worked like a charm. 👍👍👍

Grateful for the shade offered by the occasional clouds but shooting in 104 degrees Fahrenheit weather makes for a whole lot of sweat in the eyes kind of camera work — even with the hat. The photos and pleased clients make it all worth it. It’s still great work, despite the heat and sweat.

One does not simply design a brochure. Often you’ve got to make the content for the brochure as well. This week we worked on a brochure that required new product photography and photo editing before we ever got to the design stage. Its all a process but its always fun to make an our clients’ ideas into tangible reality — even if its just a tri-fold mailer.

Had lots of fun shooting the Muskogee Nation Festival last weekend with , despite the crazy heat and sweat in the eyes. The imagery and cultural experience were amazing. You never know the kind of gigs you are going to get and that’s one of the things that makes this kind of work so much fun.

Shot some b-roll in Carlton Landing this morning before the temps got too high and got some nice, close and sharp wildflower foregrounds. The neutral density filter on the camera really helped to get surprisingly nice bokeh.

Videography is a little bit of shooting and a whole lot of editing. Today we are doing a lot of the latter, giving final touches to a piece for for their 10 year anniversary celebration this weekend featuring speaker and author John Eldredge with . It’s so exciting to be involved in such a great organization and effort. This kind of work is fun, but it is so much rewarding when working for such a great cause.
