Michaela Marx Wheatley is a content strategist at Traction Marketing in Oklahoma City and will be discussing "Moving Time-Tested Brands Across Generational Chasms". She believes that every brand has a story worth telling and aims to create emotional connections between people and brands they choose to be part of their lives. She is passionate about creating content with purpose, processes that make sense and working with people that inspire. Originally from Frankfurt, Germany, Michaela came to Oklahoma to be an exchange student and attended the University of Oklahoma. She is raising three strong, assertive, talented daughters and lives with the girls and her husband Andrew, a dentist, in Norman.

We’ve been shooting photos and videos of Air Tractor, Inc. airplanes for a few decades now. Ground-to-air and air-to-air. But in the last decade, new possibilities have arisen with the advent of drone imagery.

This shot, which ended each of the videos we created for Air Tractor’s ‘Fly Like You Mean It’ campaign, is the perfect example of the images we can now capture, providing new and unique perspectives on the planes and the environments they serve.

It’s the little things like this sequence, mixed with the overall cinematic storytelling, that made for such an effective and powerful marketing campaign. In fact, it helped us bring home the 'Best of Show' award that year at the Oklahoma ADDYs – the top honor in the state.

A brand’s Position is its unique and strategic place in a market or its industry. The act of actively working on or toward your position is called positioning. Simple! You declare the niché you plan to occupy and slap it on your website. Right?

Companies typically need more help repositioning than they do positioning. Repositioning, when done right, is going to feel risky. And if it doesn’t, then you may not be narrowing your position enough.

Because a company with too broad of a position is actually a brand for very few.
