Anyone know an HVAC company in need of a smarter site? This one fits the bill. I designed it as a test and it could really use a home.

It's got a lot of great features going for it to help with SEO and get you found, but there's also some great behind the scenes tools that make set it apart from a typical static brochure site. For example, that's not just any random chat bot in the bottom corner. This chat bot can actually answer people's questions with specific information about your business. It can set appointments, quote prices (if you want) and contact you immediately if there's an emergency happening. Pretty slick. It can even use a voice model instead of text so your users can talk to it just like a person. It's awesome.

Anyway, I think it's pretty solid and would be a great upgrade for a lot of the HVAC sites I see out there. Interested? Just use the voice chat on my own site at the link below to let me know.

They say that if you can fix a problem, you have a business. Well, this definitely fixed a problem.

Accolade Community Theatre, a theatre my wife and I and another couple founded a few years ago needed a solution for ticketing. We had a great solution to sell tickets, but not a great one for checking people in at the performances. We were literally waiting until the last possible moment, printing out multiple copies of the ticket sales data on paper, dashing over to the the theatre, and delivering them to the box office. Then the box office person had to find people on the sheets and check them in manually. It was a real hassle. After one crazy print session, I got smart and solved the problem.

One great thing we did have working - we could automagically build a google sheet with all the ticketing info in it that would update with every purchase. I was able to create a one-page site that would take that data, refresh at the beginning of a check-in session, or at any later point in time, and allow any person with a phone, tablet, laptop, or whatever to check people in for the next performance. Pretty slick.

Best part? It's literally free - as in when the priest tells the cops that Jean Valjean was supposed to have the church's silver. Free as a bird. And it works great. The box office folks have been over the moon with it. And now we don't have to go crazy with printing before every performance.

Check out the page on the LBD site to see how it works. I re-created it with fake buyer data just so you could play with it.

I've been working on a lot of different projects lately but I haven't been showing them off. Let's change that.

Here's a site I created for a custom home builder on Cedar Creek Lake, a destination spot for Dallas families building lake homes. I dreamed up a couple of different sites for this particular builder and they went with the other design, but I've got to say, I like this one a lot.

It's built in such a way that it can have all the smart features you want in a modern website, connections to your CRM, easy photo management, etc. And best, it's got a streamlined backend the user can very easily add new properties to show off.

I also created some info about the surrounding area to help out with SEO.

All the info is ficticious so don't ask me how you can buy the house that's listed.

A site like this can be easily customized especially for other builders or real estate folks.

Let me know what you think...

You're on the roof. It might not be safe to answer. But what if that was a new customer?

He's on the roof right now. That's not a metaphor. He is literally on top of a house with a clipboard, checking flashing and gutters and the things that turn into expensive surprises if nobody catches them.

His phone just rang. He can't answer it. He's forty feet off the ground doing the job someone hired him to do.

The caller wanted to book an inspection before their closing date. They needed an answer today. They called the next inspector on the list.

Voice IQ picks up when he can't. It books the inspection, captures the details, and keeps his calendar full — even when he's somewhere he absolutely cannot take a call.

The job takes him away from the phone. Voice IQ covers while he's gone.

Teach a class and answer the phone? No chance. So, who's going to sign up that new member?

She's on the floor, leading the session, keeping people moving and motivated. That's her job. That's what her members are paying for.

But while she's doing that job well, someone just called to ask about membership. They had questions. Nobody answered. Now they're checking out the studio down the street.

Voice IQ picks up while she teaches. It answers the membership questions, captures the lead, and books the tour — so when class ends, she has a new prospect waiting, not a missed opportunity.

She built a studio to lead people, not to sit by the phone.

You're handling one crisis when two more calls come in. Something's going to fall through.

One person. Ten properties. The calls never stop. The answers rarely come.

Maintenance requests. Lease questions. Prospective tenants wanting to schedule a showing. Every call is someone who needs something, and there is only so much of one person to go around.

Most property managers survive by triaging. Some calls get answered. Some get called back. Some fall through and become problems later.

Voice IQ handles the intake so she doesn't have to. It books showings, routes maintenance requests, and captures every inquiry — even the ones that come in at 9pm when she's finally off the clock.

One person can only do so much. Voice IQ handles the rest.

Every chair is full. Your hands are in someone's hair. That call isn't getting answered.

Every chair is full. That's the dream, right? A packed Saturday, every stylist busy, clients happy. That's what a well-run salon looks like.

It's also the moment nobody can pick up the phone.

The call sitting in voicemail right now is someone trying to book a birthday appointment for next weekend. They'll leave a message. Maybe. Or they'll just Google another salon.

Voice IQ answers when the floor is too busy to. It books the appointment, captures the request, and makes sure a packed Saturday doesn't turn into a missed Monday booking.

A full salon is a good problem to have. It shouldn't also be a leaky bucket.
