We’ve all heard the cliche, “If you improve 1% each day, in one year you’ll be 365% better than you are today.” But, I (and the real world) don’t subscribe to this idea + I’ll tell you why.👎🏻⁣

Hey👋🏻, it's Mike and yes, I am 30 years old today...🥳⁣

This birthday got me really thinking about where I am + where I’m going.🤔 I’ve served as an Air Force Pilot ✈️ for the past 8 years, but what I'm most proud of is being a loving husband + father. 🥰 It’s my wife Paige that makes me want to be better + it’s my daughter who makes me want to make this world a better place. 🌎⁣

What the heck is Labor Day all about anyway?🤔⁣

For some, it means back to school(virtual still counts!)💻& for others, it means cooler weather is just around the corner.🍂⁣

And if we are being completely honest, to most, it just means a day off to kick back and relax 😎⁣

So for my love of history & out of slight embarrassment for not knowing, I did some googling & found some super interesting facts!🧐⁣

➡️1. The big man himself, President Grover Cleveland, signed the holiday into law on June 28th, 1894. 📝⁣

➡️2. The idea of celebrating the workers of this nation arose during the height of the Industrial Revolution & the rise of labor unions in the late 1800s. 🙌🏻⁣

➡️3. At this time, Americans were working crazy hours in crazy conditions. Children as young as 5 years old were working away in the mills, factories, & mines! 5-YEARS-OLD! 😵⁣

Let's be real, I need a day off just thinking about all that! 🤯⁣

The world has changed a lot since the 19th century, but the work it takes to succeed hasn’t! AND, it takes even more hard work to make it in this digital world.📱⁣

“We want the content you see on Instagram to be authentic and to come from real people, not bots, or others trying to mislead you.” (August 13th) 🙌🏻 🙌🏻 🙌🏻

Too bad there’s not the dreamy Will Smith 😍 to save the day this time (We’re sorry for the early 2000’s action 🎥nostalgia)...

Our team (and family) began in 2015, on a dreamy summer night at the Nixon Presidential Library in Yorba Linda, California.✨⁣

After those faithful “I do’s,” 👰🏼🤵🏼 the journey we would take together from that point until now can hardly be described as normal.🤪⁣

Mike had just finished pilot training for the Air Force and was lucky enough to be selected for an assignment in Germany 🥨🍺 to fly his dream airplane.👨🏼‍✈️✈️ Cue moving overseas for the next 3 years! 🤯⁣

While in Europe, Mike flew super important people all around the 🌍 and saved lives flying medical evacuations. 🚑 Meanwhile, Paige pursued a degree📝 in HR Management (she’s all about her people skills)🦋.⁣

In our free time we traveled, ate and drank our way through Europe🍷🥖, and dreamed of one day starting something we could call our own. 🦄⁣

After the birth of our daughter Mackenzie 👧🏼 in 2018, we officially launched our first blog and quickly immersed ourselves into the digital world. 🖥 ⁣
