One unexpected thing that’s come from this year so far?

I’ve picked up two consulting gigs working with in-house designers at companies I either currently work with, or have worked with in the past. And honestly? It’s taught me a lot.

It’s made me look closely at my own process. Am I doing something because it’s the best way, or just the way I’ve always done it to get work out the door?

It’s also made me realize how much I naturally operate as an art director and creative partner. I make decisions on layout, pacing, hierarchy, and overall visual direction instinctively at this point. I’ve done it so long, I forgot that part doesn’t come naturally to everyone.

I’m also almost entirely self-taught. One college design class… and the rest came from years of experimenting in Adobe before YouTube tutorials were even a thing. A lot of what I do is instinct and experience. I just know when something works.

And maybe the biggest takeaway?

Creative work needs collaboration. Having someone to bounce ideas off of, challenge a direction, or simply confirm you’re on the right track is invaluable.

If your in-house team needs another creative brain in the room, whether for design support, creative direction, or consulting, let’s talk.

I’m a designer.
But not just the “make it pretty” kind.

I work with marketing teams and business owners who need design that actually does something.

My goals are always:
- Branding that feels cohesive.
- Websites that reflect the level of the business.
- Campaigns that look like they belong together.

Sometimes that’s a full brand package. Sometimes it’s a website. Sometimes it’s jumping in and becoming an extension of your team when you just need someone who gets it (and can get it done).

I care about how things look.
But more than that, I care about how they work.

Clear message. Strong visuals. No guessing.

If your brand feels a little all over the place…
or like it’s not matching the level you’re operating at…

that’s where I come in.

Turns out… it was me. 🏆

Woman-owned. Small business. Big work.

I’m still thinking about Friday.

We hosted our first The Brand Collab and I honestly walked away with my cup very full.

A room full of women business owners showed up ready to learn, ask questions, share what’s hard, and actually spend a day working on their businesses. By the end of the day they weren’t just attendees anymore… they were exchanging ideas, following each other, talking collaborations, and cheering each other on.

We talked branding, photos, content, storytelling...but what really stood out to me were the conversations in between. The “oh my gosh, I struggle with that too” moments. Or the "I knew that, I just needed to hear it from someone else" times. The confidence that started to show up as people realized their business can look and feel more clear and intentional.

And the question asked as the end of the day?
“How can we work with you more?”

That meant a lot.

This day was design and branding, yes...but for me it was also about giving back, helping people move forward in their businesses, and creating a space where they didn’t have to figure it all out alone.

Huge thanks to and for building this with me, and to every woman who trusted us enough to spend a day investing in herself and her business.

We’re already working on what comes next. 💛

Long blocks of text are out.
Bullet points are in.

In emails. On social. In ads. On slides.

People skim — give them something worth skimming.

✔️ Short lines
✔️ Icons help
✔️ And for the love of all things design… left-align them 😅

(And yes, this applies to your emails too.)

For a long time, I’ve worked with business owners behind the scenes, helping them build brands that look intentional, professional, and trustworthy. And one thing I see over and over again?

Women are doing everything in their businesses… but rarely have the time or space to work on their brand the way they want to. It keeps getting pushed to “I’ll get to that later.”

So I teamed up with two women who feel the same way I do.

Together with Cara Bresette-Yates and Michelle Hagan, we created The Brand Collab — a one-day, in-person experience for women business owners who want clarity around their brand, confidence in how they show up online, and a better understanding of what to post (and why).

On Friday, February 27 (9–3) at Veseli in Springfield, we’ll cover:
• Brand photography that actually works for marketing
• Building a clear, consistent brand (logos, colors, fonts, tone) + setting it up in Canva
• Social media strategy and storytelling
• And time to create photos and video you can actually use

It’s intentionally small, hands-on, and designed for real progress — not just more information.

And honestly? We’re almost full.
If this sounds like something you’ve been putting off, now’s the time to grab a spot.

And if this isn’t for you but someone immediately came to mind while reading this… please send it her way. 💛

One day. Real clarity. And yes — it’s going to be fun.

“What kind of clients do you work with?”

This post breaks it down. 👇

I’ve worked with everyone from small business owners and nonprofit teams to CMOs, campaign leads, and national brands. What they all have in common?

They want design that’s not just pretty — it’s purposeful, polished, and strategic.

Sound like you? Let’s talk.

Ever look at a design and think, “Ugh, that just looks… off?”

Odds are, it’s not the color.
Not the font.
Not even the content.

It’s the lack of space.

Margins and padding are what give your design structure, rhythm, and breathing room. Without them, even the best fonts and colors look squished and chaotic.

Great design isn’t about what you add.
It’s about what you don’t cram into every corner.
