Most people already know what’s worth their time… The hesitation for many is trusting what that is.

If you chase two rabbits, you catch neither. Stop chasing, and cultivate instead. Focus isn’t limiting… it’s clarifying.

Happy Easter. Wishing you full baskets and a season of new beginnings and forward movement.

A little more than a year ago, on New Year’s Eve 2024, I chose a word to guide how The Syndicate Agency would operate through 2025.

I’ve never been a “word of the year” person, but after closing out the year with our team and reflecting on a whirlwind 2024, one word stayed with me.

Intrinsic.

I shared it with a select few, but I didn’t announce it. It wasn’t meant to inspire or perform. It was a standard already embedded in how we work, just held closer in 2025.

On the way home to spend a quiet New Year’s Eve with my wife, I stopped for a couple of bottles of wine and noticed a label I hadn’t seen before. It read “Intrinsic.” A quiet confirmation, and fortunately, a good bottle of wine.

At its simplest, intrinsic means essential. Inherent. Belonging naturally.

That idea has always guided how I work. Strategy that starts with truth. Creative born from intuition, not layered on top of thinking. Relationships built on trust, not transactions.

Throughout 2025, that standard shaped decisions most people never saw. Who we partnered with, how we staffed, and where we slowed down to get it right instead of rushing it out.

Looking back, it’s clear that Intrinsic wasn’t something we were working toward. It was something we were already practicing, quietly and consistently.

As we move into 2026, this isn’t a word we’re introducing. It’s a principle that already defines the work and the partnerships we value.

Wishing you all a Christmas filled with warmth, presence, perspective, and a well-earned pause.

We are grateful for the conversations that challenge thinking, the partnerships built on shared ambition, and creative work rooted in purpose.

Cheers to keeping merrily on the scene, returning rested, focused, and ready to roll into the new year.

Merry Christmas!

When asked, “What’s the first rule of marketing?” the answers usually sound familiar and well-reasoned.

- Know your customer.
- You are not the customer.
- Solve a real problem.
- Focus on one audience.
- Listen first. Build trust.

All true, but none of it matters if you don’t genuinely give a damn.

At The Syndicate Agency, this principle comes before strategy, systems, or spend. It’s not a slogan or a mindset exercise, it’s a standard. One that guides how we think, how we show up, and how we choose to work with clients.

If you don’t truly care about the people you’re serving, the problem you’re solving, and the outcome on the other side, everything else becomes tactics pretending to be strategy.

Giving a damn is a responsibility. We step into the weight of what our clients are building and we guard it, their brand, their business, their reputation, their momentum, and the trust they’ve earned.

We aim to succeed on behalf of our clients, not simply execute for them, and that requires belief… in the business, the vision, and the people behind it. When you believe in something, you protect it differently, think more carefully, challenge more honestly, and refuse shortcuts that dilute the brand or compromise the long game.

When you give a damn, everything sharpens. Listening improves, messaging clarifies, and trust accelerates.

High-level marketing should be persuasive, but first, it should be aligned.

We’re always tossing around ideas … and that one time, a 1/2 lb of raw beef that missed the target.

When you’re breaking the mold, it’s ok to break the rules 😏 … but not the equipment. 📹 🎬

Creating a Holiday Sneak Peek 👀

You’ve played the fast game. Quick turns, short wins, and empty metrics. Then you realize … momentum isn’t the same as movement.

When your brand is ready to stop moving pieces, and start changing the board…

We’re not here to play checkers.
We’re here to play chess.
