Burl wood. A drop leaf. A pull-out drawer lined with green felt, with little compartments and brass hinges. A pedestal base. Everything about this table is beautiful, and everything about it is easy to damage.
Thin veneer can lift or chip along the edges. Leaves and hinges can crack if the table shifts. A pedestal can loosen at the joint if it's carried the wrong way. A drawer will slide open in transit if nobody secures it.
That's why a piece like this doesn't go in a regular box. We secure the drawer and the leaves, pad the corners and the base, wrap the whole piece, and build a box or crate that fits it. If freight is the safest way to move it, we set that up too.
