UPDATE ON TONIGHT’S AMERICA250!

The show at Memorial Park will still go on and there will be food trucks and free entertainment from 6:30-8:30.

At 8:30, the ceremony will take place with Dr. Ronan Tynan singing our National Anthem and “God Bless America.” The 400 red, white and blue drone patriotic show will take place at 9:00pm.

However, the super flag will not be a part of tonight’s event due to the wind and rain. The flag handlers thought that we could overcome the weather, but it’s just too much risk.

It will still be a celebration of AMERICA250! Join us!

The USS Omaha Memorial Action Committee is holding a very special memorial relaunch of the USS Omaha Submarine Memorial SSN 692 at 12:00pm at Levi Carter Park, just south of the Omaha Airport, located between Abbott Drive and Levi Carter Lake.

NewsRadio 1110 KFAB NewsRadio 1110 KFAB will be on hand to broadcast live during this historic event. Scott Voorhees, Scott KFAB's morning show host, will serve as emcee.

“We at KFAB are very excited to be a part of this memorial relaunch,” said Voorhees. “It will be an honor to help with this renewed effort to honor the ship and crew of the USS Omaha SSN 692 submarine.”

Many distinguished guest speakers will also be in attendance to honor this milestone. The public will have the opportunity to meet and greet former USS Omaha sailors and crewmembers as well as other former and current submariners and local military members.
Upon completion, the site will also include a Gold Star Memorial for families who have lost loved ones serving in the military. The local Nebraska Federated Garden Clubs lead for Gold Star Memorials plans to attend the relaunch.

Locally owned Chesterman Coca Cola Company will provide complimentary DASANI water and Sgt. Peffer's Cafe Italian Saddle Creek will provide light hors d'oeuvres (while supplies last).
