We recently had the opportunity to sit down with Scott Simpson, founder of Sal y Luz (Salt & Light), an upcoming ministry hub and boutique culinary marketplace coming to Gulf Shores.

After 30 years as an Executive Chef in luxury hotels around the world — from India and Thailand to Ecuador and Spain — Scott is bringing his experience home with a mission far greater than food alone.

Sal y Luz is being built around the idea of creating a “Safe Harbor” for the community: a place centered on fellowship, discipleship, hospitality, and serving others with excellence.

As Scott shared with us:
“We would be remiss if we shared the harvest of the Gulf with you, but failed to introduce the Person that created it.”

Okay first of all… ignore the wind trying to personally take us out in this video 😂🌬️ We were holding on for dear life out there this morning, but honestly we had SUCH a fun time hanging with the amazing crew from Sea Glass Initiative Inc. on this big beautiful boat at Legendary Marina & Yacht Club - Gulf Shores🛥️☀️

The countdown is officially ON for the Salty Shuffle Poker Cruise happening June 13th, and y’all… this is going to be SO much fun. ♠️🌊 There has been a whole lot of hard work, planning, teamwork, and probably caffeine involved in pulling this event together, but it’s all for such an incredible cause.

Today we hosted a fun and lively networking event at Waffles R Wild- at OWA Parks & Resort in Foley and it was an awesome time!

Waffles R Wild is way more than just breakfast. They’ve got creative food, cocktails, and a really fun atmosphere with poker nights, trivia, bingo, and other game nights that keep the place buzzing.

While we were there, I tried their Philly cheesesteak served on a savory garlic butter waffle with hot honey and it absolutely lived up to the hype.

The networking event brought together a great group of local businesses and community members and there were some awesome giveaways throughout the event. Thank you for the gift cards!
