Reposting from my husbands page. If you have ever faced this in your business please share in the comments I would love to hear your stories. Let’s show the clay community that judging ppl based on looks has no place in business. Let’s do better together.
My husbands post: Lately I’ve been made aware of some things being said behind our backs — about my wife’s business, the team, and even about the body weight of my wife and others in her business. I’m not naming names, but I’m sure the people involved will see this and recognize themselves.
Let me be very clear:
No, one person can’t do everything we offer. That’s why there are FOUR people — each doing what they do best. That’s called teamwork, structure, and knowing your strengths. It’s how real businesses operate. So yes, we can offer all the services we say we do, because we built a team capable of doing it.
But what I’m not going to tolerate — ever — is people speaking on someone’s body weight.
That is childish, cruel, and completely out of line.
My wife and I have both walked the hard road. I was once over 500 lbs. Through discipline, willpower, perseverance, and the blessing of being able to get gastric surgery, I fought my way down to where I am today. My wife has done the same. We did it to live longer, to be healthier, and to be here for our family.
So when someone thinks they have the right to comment on another person’s body — especially someone who has fought for their life — it’s disgusting. It’s no different than making comments about someone’s race, religion, sexuality, or disability. It’s hateful, it’s unnecessary, and it says far more about the person speaking than the person being spoken about.
To those who felt the need to tear others down:
Do better.
Have more respect for yourselves, your business, and the community you’re part of.
We’re all out here trying to build something. There’s room for everyone.
I’ll be attaching a before‑and‑after photo — not for sympathy, not for applause, but as a reminder that you never know someone’s story. You never know their battles. And you never have the right to judge their body.
Grow up. Be better humans. Respect people.
