Artist and illustrator Drew Struzan has passed away at the age of 78. Struzan was known for painting nearly 200 movie posters, album covers, collectibles, and book covers. Some of his best known movie posters include The Food of the Gods (1976), Futureworld (1976), Squirm (1976), Tentacles (1977), Star Wars (1977), Empire of Ants (1977), The Evictors (1979), The Empire Strikes Back (1980), Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981), The Great Muppet Caper (1981), The Fox and the Hound (1981), The Incubus (1981), E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982), Blade Runner (1982), The Thing (1982), First Blood (1982), Return of the Jedi (1983), D.C. Cab (1983), Police Academy (1984), Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984), Dreamscape (1984), The Goonies (1985), Back to the Future (1985), Better of Dead (1985), Big Trouble in Little China (1986), An American Tail (1986), Harry and the Hendersons (1987), Adventures in Babysitting (1987), Coming to America (1988), Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989), Harlem Nights (1989), Back to the Future Part II (1989), Back to the Future Part III (1990), Hook (1991), Hocus Pocus (1993), The Shawshank Redemption (1994), Mallrats (1995), The Green Mile (1999), Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001), Pan’s Labyrinth (2006) and Tales of Halloween (2015). He would also create album cover artwork for a long line of musical artists including Tony Orlando and Dawn, The Beach Boys, Bee Gees, Roy Orbison, Black Sabbath, Glenn Miller, Iron Butterfly, Bach, Earth, Wind & Fire, and Liberace. Among these, Struzan illustrated the album cover artwork for Alice Cooper's Welcome to My Nightmare, which Rolling Stone would go on to vote one of the Top 100 Album Covers Of All Time. He also illustrated the t-shirt that George Carlin wears on the front and back cover of his album Toledo Window Box.
