You donāt get to see my face much around here! Usually, Iām hiding behind a computer screen all day. š So here I am, proof that there is, in fact, a human being behind all the pretty paper!
But since youāre here, letās talk about why hiring a professional stationer is different from designing your invitations yourself.
With so many DIY options out there, itās easier than ever to make an invitation. But thereās a lot more that goes into creating a great wedding invitation than plugging your names into a template.
Itās about choosing the right paper that will work best with your printing method and vision.
Itās knowing which fonts, colors, and elements work together to create a beautiful, intentional design.
Itās understanding what wording goes on your invitation (and what definitely doesnāt belong on it).
Itās knowing when a design needs more breathing roomāor less.
Itās sourcing all the pretty extras and finishes that arenāt always available to the average consumer.
Itās making sure all of your paper goods tie together, from the invitation to the menus, place cards, and signage.
Itās handling all the tedious details like assembly, embellishments, addressing, and mailing.
And itās having enough experience to catch the little things before they become expensive problems.
Most importantly, itās taking your ideas and creating something that feels like you, rather than starting with a template and trying to make yourselves fit into it.
So yes, you can design your own invitations. But thereās a difference between making an invitation and working with someone whose job is to make wedding stationery.
And that difference is what youāre investing in. š¤
