Your "About" page is probably not doing what you think it is.

Most service business owners write it like a biography. When the company started. How many years of experience. Maybe a mission statement.

Here is the problem. Nobody searching for a roofer or a plumber at 2pm on a Tuesday cares about your founding story. They care about one thing. Can you solve their problem today.

Your About page should still answer basic trust questions. Who you are, where you work, how long you have been doing it. That stuff matters.

But it should not be the main focus. The main focus should be the customer and what working with you looks like for them.

Flip the script. Instead of "We have been serving Utah County since 2008," try something like "We show up on time, give you a straight quote, and get the job done right."

Same idea. Completely different feel.

One is about you. One is about what the customer actually gets.

Small change. But it can make a real difference in whether someone keeps reading or bounces off the page.

If you want a second set of eyes on your site, shoot me a message. Happy to take a look.

About 75% of people judge a business's credibility based on its website design.

That means before someone reads a single word on your page, they have already started deciding whether to trust you or leave.

It does not matter how long you have been in business. It does not matter how good your work is. If your site looks outdated or thrown together, a big chunk of visitors will bounce before they ever call.

First impressions happen fast. Yours is happening right now every time someone searches for your service.

If you are not sure what your website is saying about your business, drop a comment or send me a message. Happy to take a look.

Myth: You need a big budget to get a website that actually brings in leads.

Not true.

A five-page website with clear service info, a fast load time, and a strong call to action will outperform a bloated $10,000 site every time.

What gets you leads is not how much you spent. It is how easy your site makes it for someone to find you, trust you, and call you.

Jackson has built simple, effective websites for local service businesses at a price that makes sense for a small operation. No fluff. Just what works.

If you want to know what that looks like for your business, send a message or drop a comment below.

Photos on your website matter more than most people think.

Not because they make things look nice. Because they build trust fast.

When someone lands on your site and sees real photos of your work, your truck, your crew, your before and afters, they start to believe you are the real deal. Stock photos do the opposite. People can spot them instantly and it makes your business feel generic.

You do not need a professional photoshoot. Your phone is good enough. Take a few shots on your next job. Get a photo of the finished work. Snap one of your truck parked outside a house. Get a crew shot if you have one.

Put those on your site and you will look more trustworthy than half your competition.

If you are not sure what photos to use or where to put them, feel free to reach out. Happy to point you in the right direction.

Got a service business website but not sure if it's actually doing its job?

I put together a free one-page guide that walks you through the five things every local service website needs to turn visitors into calls.

Not design stuff. Not tech stuff. Just the practical things that make someone pick up the phone instead of clicking away.

Here's what it covers:

Where your phone number needs to be and why most sites get it wrong.

What your headline should say in the first five seconds someone lands on your page.

Why most contact forms lose leads before they're ever sent.

How to make your site look trustworthy without spending a fortune.

What Google actually needs to see before it shows your site to local customers.

It's free. No strings. Jackson put it together because these are the same things he goes over with every new client anyway.

Drop a comment or send a message and he'll send it right over.

75% of people judge a business's credibility based on its website.

Not their reviews. Not their truck wrap. Their website.

That means if your site looks outdated or is hard to use on a phone, people are already making up their minds before they ever call you.

You don't need a flashy design. You need a site that looks like you know what you're doing and makes it easy to reach you.

That's it.

If your current site isn't doing that, it might be worth a second look. Reach out and I'll take a look at it with you.

A lot of local businesses think a fancy website will get them more customers.

It won't.

A pretty website that nobody finds does nothing. And a website that gets traffic but has no clear call to action does nothing either.

What actually works is simple. Show up in search. Make it easy for people to call or book. That's it.

You don't need animations, a dark mode toggle, or a page that takes 10 seconds to load because of all the graphics.

You need a fast, clean site that tells people what you do, where you do it, and how to reach you.

If your current site isn't doing that, it doesn't matter how good it looks.

Want a second set of eyes on your site? Send me a message and I'll take a look.

Most service business websites lose leads before the phone ever rings.

Here is why. Your contact info is buried. Visitors have to scroll and hunt just to find your number. By then, a lot of them are gone.

Fix it simple. Put your phone number at the top of every page. Make it clickable on mobile. Add a clear button that says something like "Get a Free Quote" or "Call Now."

People are not going to dig for your number. Make it impossible to miss.

If your website is making people work too hard to contact you, that is worth fixing. Reach out and I can take a look.
