Eddie’s Barbershop in Asbury Park opened in 1940 when haircuts were $1, and Asbury Park Beach was segregated.

New research finds a big rise in new businesses despite the pandemic, particularly in predominantly Black neighborhoods.

Will we ever bounce back? Black Owned business have been devastated due to the pandemic. Many of us have shut our doors for good. What will our economic contribution look like beyond 2021. I reckon that we will see the light shine again in the next right to twelve months or so. Keep on pressing.

According to CNBC, Black-owned businesses in 2020 saw a decline of 41% compared to white-owned businesses that saw a 17% decline.
