Kameirah Johnson, a senior at Lakeside High School in North Seattle, entered the Doodle for Google competition with a digital painting celebrating Black hair as a superpower and came out as one of just five national finalists chosen from tens of thousands of submissions, with her piece “Hair Power: The Crown That Grows From Us” now featured on the Google homepage today, April 28.
