One of the biggest misconceptions in business is believing that marketing and sales are the same thing.
They're not.
Marketing is NOT a magic machine where you put $1 in and automatically get $1 back.
Marketing's job is to create awareness, build trust, generate interest, and create opportunities.
Sales' job is to answer the phone, follow up, build relationships, overcome objections, and close deals.
We hear things like:
❌ "I hired a marketing company, but they didn't make any sales."
❌ "I need someone to do my marketing and close deals."
❌ "Facebook ads aren't working because nobody bought anything."
The reality is that marketing and sales serve different purposes.
A marketing campaign can generate 100 leads, but if nobody answers the phone, follows up, or knows how to close the deal, that's not a marketing problem.
Likewise, the best salesperson in the world can't close customers who never find your business in the first place.
Marketing creates opportunities.
Sales creates revenue.
The businesses that grow the fastest understand the difference and build systems for BOTH.
Stop expecting marketing to do the salesperson's job.
Stop expecting sales to do the marketer's job.
When marketing and sales work together, that's where real growth happens.
What do you think? Have you seen business owners confuse marketing and sales?
