Hey everyone! In light of all the "Zooming" that everyone has been doing, (Yay to technology for keeping us connected!) questions have arisen about just how safe/secure Zoom meetings are. There have been stories of "Zoom-bombing" (a newish term that involves bad actors jumping into your Zoom meeting). So, I have compiled a few tips on basic security measures to keep your Zoom meetings as secure as possible.
You can set these up from within your Zoom account where you set up meetings.
1. Do NOT publicly publish your Zoom meeting ID.
2. Create a unique meeting ID for each meeting.
3. Protect the meeting with a password.
4. Do NOT publicly share the above mentioned password.
5. Restrict screen sharing to stop anyone but you from sharing your screen (you can still grant sharing privileges to specific users during a meeting if needed).
6. Lock the meeting once you’re sure that everyone who needs to join has joined.
7. In “Advanced Options” for hosting meetings, Enable Waiting Room – this puts people on hold before they jump into a meeting so you can block anyone you weren’t expecting.
Hope this helps to keep you Zooming with confidence! If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me.
