As we get closer to our nations 250th birthday, I will be sharing fun facts about my home state, Florida!

On this day in 1953, the Florida State Legislature designated the Sabal Palm as the State Tree. Sabal Palms have provided Floridians with building materials, ingredients for food, and goods to create furniture, clothing, pocketbooks, and other everyday items. In 1970, the Legislature amended the state seal to include the Sabal Palm.

Did you know 1 out of 100 children are born with congenital heart disease?
Did you know is the #1 birth defect in America?
I bet you also didnt know that is a male dominate heart defect.
My post is about my heart warrior and my reason for fighting for better pediatric heathcare initiative, Dani-Lynn.
Born with 3 , she has proven pediatric cardiology teams across the United States that she is more than just numbers in a medical chart.
She has lived far beyond the life expectancy of a child that has only had 2 of the 3 surgeries required for HLHS.
Due to other medical complexities in her body, she is not a candidate for the third surgery. She has undergone a total of three open heart surgeries due to 1 of the 3 defects in her heart that need to be repaired.
Surgeries are not a cure and not a guarantee a child with cardiac disease will live to be an adult.
1 out of 4 children with CHD will die before they become an adult.
A second opinion saved my daughters life!
Fight for better, fight for charge, fight for answers!

They say one man's junk is another man's treasure. Well in this case, it's more then just treasure, it's job security.
Before my friends throw items to the curb, they message me to see if I can pick it up because they know I donate a lot to the Salvation Army.
I dropped off a truck load of clothes and dishes to my local Salvation Army. They sort all of the items and delivery them to the thrift store.
Before throwing items to the curb that will just end up in a landfill, donate then to your local clothes closet, homeless shelter, or thrift store.
