We have a strong marriage, but we have learned that strong does not mean effortless.

Life gets busy. Communication gets missed. Quality time gets pushed aside. And two people who genuinely love each other can still begin feeling disconnected.

That is why we cannot put our marriage on autopilot.

Sometimes intentionality looks romantic. Other times, it looks like admitting, “I should have communicated that,” asking for forgiveness and choosing to reconnect.

It looks like protecting our intimacy, praying and fasting for God’s direction, and learning how to support each other’s dreams as we both continue to grow.

We are not sharing this because we have mastered marriage.

We are sharing it because we have learned that love may bring two people together, but intentionality helps keep them connected.

There are seasons when God gives you confirmation before you move.

And then there are seasons when your obedience has to become the confirmation.

I did not feel completely ready when God told me my season was up. I did not have every answer. But I had His Word, and sometimes that is the only solid ground you need.

If God is asking you to move, build, release, or begin again, choose one of these scriptures and carry it with you this week.
