Your caption is not there to describe the graphic. It is there to complete it.
Think of every post as a two-part story. The visual earns the stop. The caption earns the save.
When you write your caption as an extension of the content rather than an afterthought beneath it, something shifts. People read longer, engage more, and hit that save button because the caption gave them something the graphic alone could not.
The most shared posts on Instagram are not always the prettiest ones. They are the ones where someone read the caption and thought "I have to send this to someone."
That is the goal. Write toward that.
