I’ve never shared this before and you might find it surprising, but… even after getting a degree in photography and a job at a portrait studio, mastering manual mode was not in my skill set.
I always questioned myself.
I would always change the settings around randomly without knowing how it would affect the shot.
I would look at my screen and say to myself, “That's not what I thought would happen.”
And even when an image turned out great, I didn’t know how I made it happen.
