Travel is one of my favorite places to find color inspiration.

This palette is pulled from a photo I took in Ireland. Deep Atlantic blues, lush cliffside greens, soft seafoam tones, and weathered coastal stone. Nature does a pretty great job of building color palettes on its own.

In honor of St. Patrick’s Day, here is a little Irish inspired color story. 🍀

Good photos do not always require a fancy camera. This was taken on an iPhone. The difference usually comes down to a few simple choices when you take the photo.

Here are a few easy ways to improve your phone photography:

1. Pay attention to your angle
For food or products, try shooting directly from above. This flat lay angle keeps the subject clear and avoids distracting background elements.

2. Keep the framing simple
Let the subject be the focus. In this case, the pastry fills most of the frame and the plate creates a natural border that keeps the eye centered.

3. Shoot in the shade
Bright direct sunlight creates harsh shadows and blown out highlights. Taking photos in soft shade gives you even lighting and better detail.

4. Use neutral backgrounds
A simple table or surface keeps the image clean and prevents the photo from feeling cluttered.

5. Get closer
Instead of zooming, physically move closer to your subject. This keeps the image sharper and makes textures stand out.

Small adjustments like these can instantly make your photos feel more polished, even with just your phone.

YELLOW in Portugal 💛⭐️🌻🌙🌼🐝🍋

Color is my therapy, and my favorite thing to capture in photos when traveling. Color holds emotion, meaning, warning, direction. Color is powerful. And I think my reverence for color is one of the reasons I take branding so seriously.

Small cafés in Europe. Little boutiques tucked into side streets. Family run restaurants in colorful town squares.

Everywhere I travel, I find myself noticing the same thing: small businesses are the heartbeat of a place.

Each one has a story. A personality. A reason it exists. And the ones that stand out most are the ones that know how to express that story through their brand, their space, and the experience they create.

Seeing businesses like this all over the world gives me a different perspective when I work with small businesses back home. It reminds me that great branding is not about being flashy. It is about being intentional, memorable, and authentic to who you are.

The same principles that make a little café in a European square feel magical are the ones that help a small business anywhere build connection with their customers.

And I love helping bring that kind of personality to life. ✨

A little reintroduction 👋

Hey y'all, I’m Courtney, the designer behind Everfound Creative. I grew up right here in Cabarrus County, studied graphic design at UNCC, and have always had a love for creativity, small businesses, and good design.

When I’m not designing brands and websites, you’ll probably find me playing softball, traveling, or hanging out with my two human kids and my two very opinionated terriers.

I’m excited to share more of my work, insights, and the businesses I get to collaborate with here.

Most small businesses struggle with social media because they are posting randomly. One day it is a product, the next day a quote, then nothing for two weeks.

This is where content pillars help.

Content pillars are the main categories your content falls under. They give your social media structure so your audience understands what your brand is about.

For example, your pillars might be:
• education
• behind the scenes
• products or services
• customer stories

Instead of asking “what should I post today?” you simply create content within one of your pillars.

Your content becomes more consistent, more intentional, and much easier to plan.

HUGE shout out, pop the cork, drop the balloons, shine the spotlight on .marburger for setting my fam up for the trip of a lifetime at Disney World and Universal Studios ✨👏🎉

Before I talked to Katie, I had no clue what a dining plan or memory maker was, I didn’t understand the new Lightning lane system, and I was overwhelmed with hotel options. Katie walked me through all of it so I was able to easily make informed decisions. And then she took care of EVERYTHING! She booked our resort, dining plan, park tickets, secured the memory maker for us, and made sure everything was synced with my app. When I decided to get Lightning Lane passes one day, she purchased those and booked our first 3 rides for us!

A trip that I had dreaded planning quickly became the easiest trip I’ve ever had. Katie took care of everything so that my family could just enjoy the magic. We showed up with confidence, ready to tackle the day. The dining plan was a total game changer, and the photo pass became one of my boys’ favorite activities! Katie got us a room in a prime location at our resort, handled our Universal tickets, and checked in on us during the trip.

If you’re considering a Disney trip, you NEED to talk to Katie!! She’s amazing and you’ll be so glad you did.
