The Camp Lejeune water contamination crisis remains one of the most significant toxic exposure cases in U.S. history.
From the 1950s through the 1980s, military personnel, family members, and civilian workers at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina were potentially exposed to drinking water contaminated with hazardous chemicals including benzene, trichloroethylene (TCE), perchloroethylene (PCE), and vinyl chloride.
Research and litigation have associated this exposure with serious health conditions, including certain cancers, Parkinson’s disease, and birth defects.
Under the Camp Lejeune Justice Act of 2022, eligible individuals may pursue compensation, and claims and settlement activity continue to move forward.
⚖️Camp Lejeune remains a powerful example of environmental exposure, public health harm, and the ongoing need for accountability.
