Koty and Sam make Terry’s Tees better every day!
We are grateful for our partnership with Terry's Tees, owned by Ann-Michael and Alex Hamilton, who have been incredible supporters of inclusive employment in our community. After connecting with their team to better understand unmet needs within their daily operations, they welcomed Puzzle Pieces clients Koty and Sam into the workplace with enthusiasm and intentional support.
Koty plays an important role in the shop by washing screens, a vital step in the screen-printing process that helps keep orders moving efficiently. The task involves multiple steps and requires attention to detail. With the support of his employment specialist, the Terry’s Tee’s team, and natural workplace supports, Koty has continued to build confidence and skill in this role.
Sam joined Terry’s Tee’s after an intentional job development process to find a workplace that could utilize his diverse skill set. He assists the team with a variety of tasks including counting and verifying t-shirt orders before packaging, removing tape from positives so they can be reused, and supporting general shop needs like vacuuming, cleaning windows, dusting, and taking out trash.
Sam works closely with Landon, the shop’s main screen-print machine operator, who has been a tremendous mentor—helping guide Sam through new tasks and keeping him on track throughout the day. Sam, Landon, and Alex have built a great working relationship and share many of the same interests, often watching hunting videos on the shop TV while staying productive.
Partnerships like this demonstrate the power of inclusive employment—where businesses gain valuable team members and individuals have the opportunity to contribute their skills in meaningful ways.
We are thankful to Ann-Michael, Alex, Landon, and the entire Terry’s Tee’s team for their commitment to creating an inclusive workplace.
