OMG! we’ve been calling it the wrong thing! The jigsaw puzzle is actually a tiling puzzle. These require the completion of a picture using irregularly shaped, interlocking pieces. Jigsaw comes from the tool used to cut the pictures into pieces. Those are jigsaws, fretsaws or scroll saws. But the term didn’t pop up until 1906. Who made the first tiling puzzle?...

Last week I wrote about puzzles and my grandpa who took photographs. His wife, my grandmother and last remaining biological grandparent, passed away this week.
