Lower Westside Design Company was brought in early to help shape this concept from the inside out. From naming and voice to signage and spatial design, we built the entire brand ecosystem to reflect the cafe’s irreverent, magnetic personality. When it came to art direction, we always knew it would be about mermaids—mysterious, mischievous, and perfectly at home just steps from the water. We collaborated with illustrator Madison Janes to bring this vision to life through a series of whimsical scenes featuring beautiful mermaids drinking coffee, eating pizza, and tempting hungry sailors to visit from up and down the Atlantic. These imaginative visuals became a signature part of the brand, woven into everything from menus to wall graphics to social content.
When NDT Development set its sights on creating a younger, scrappier sibling to the concept, we knew this wasn’t going to be a typical coffee shop—it was going to be a vibe. Playful, quick to sarcasm, always on the move, and hungry for more, it was designed to feel like that effortlessly cool friend you’re always chasing around town to delicious new places. Located just off the West Palm waterfront, Cove Cafe brings bold flavor, sharp wit, and laid-back energy to every pour-over and pizza.
