A swimsuit line designed to fit like underwear, onewith was founded by Hayley Cannon (Segar). While packing for a trip to Miami, Hayley discovered that she had plenty of swimsuits that looked great on, but felt terrible on her body. She then had a Eureka moment: what if I could make a swimsuit that felt like my favorite underwear?

My onewith swimsuit is more comfortable than other swimsuits I’ve worn. I found it easier to move around in, and when I dove under waves it stayed in place. I’m not sure I would describe it as fitting exactly like underwear, as my suit was a little bigger than I’d have liked (I recommend ordering a size down from your normal size to alleviate this problem). On the plus size, I did feel cute and I received a lot of compliments! I also didn’t need to adjust the suit every five minutes, which was a welcome change from other swimsuits I’ve had. I am tempted now to try one of their one pieces to see how it feels.

After raising her five children, Molly Dee, an art teacher from Buffalo, New York, decided it was time to take her artwork to the next level. So, in 1986, Dee and her daughter Linda Koller came to Nantucket with paintings in hand and looked for a gallery that would represent her.

Dee first began painting images of Nantucket while visiting during her honeymoon in 1960. Koller said they went door to door to numerous galleries with the canvases rolled up in their hands.

“Most of them said no,” Koller said. “South Wharf Gallery said yes, and the rest is history.”

Dee’s paintings hung in South Wharf Gallery for 25 years before being represented by Cavalier Galleries.

Now, the iconic artist’s paintings will be in a solo exhibition called “Wish You Were Here,” at The Garage Gallery at the Creative Well Arts Foundation in the ViBe District through Aug. 30.

“The fact her art is here in Virginia Beach is mind-blowing,” said Tessa Duquette, co-owner of The Creative Well Arts Foundation. “It’s a big deal to have an artist with such a legacy.”

Dee’s artwork, mixed media on canvas, is often over 5 feet and painted in sepia tones that resemble antique photographs. Most of the works are unframed and on unstretched canvas.

Food Network star Suzanne Vizethann can be found on most days running her restaurant empire—balancing two separate outposts of the popular Buttermilk Kitchen in Georgia and Maine. But when she isn't busy overseeing the eateries or filming for TV, she is most often cooking up new ideas at her idyllic New England farmhouse.

The culinary expert spends her time largely in Maine—which she and her husband chose as their new home base after falling in love with the state during a quick getaway—traveling to Atlanta just a few times a year to keep an eye on things.

“The sanctuary in the home is the room that's actually attached to the kitchen,” says Vizethann. “It's like our sitting room, and I love it because it's where we have our wood-burning fireplace, which is really big when you live in New England. You get really, really cozy in the wintertime. I can be sitting down in my chair, reading a book, taking notes, something like that, and then hop right into the kitchen where I can test a recipe or whatever I need to do in there. And then if I really need separation, I purposely have my office on the third level where I can actually get away and get more stuff done.

A painting by artist Adam Umbach hangs in Vizethann's sitting room sanctuary. “It was the first big painting I've ever bought in Maine, and I kind of took my inspiration and color palette from those things,” she continues. “It's a painting of an orange tractor on a black background. It’s a really nice, intricate painting.”

“Adam Umbach does this really cool style where, to finish a painting, he uses his left hand, which is his non-dominant hand. On this specific painting, it's a cloud, but it looks like a kid drew it, so it's really cool. It’s classic and put together, but then it's got a little touch of fun to it as well. We're actually collectors. We have two or three of his pieces.”

Carnival of the Animals, which runs through Jan. 3, 2016, features 20 bronze animal sculptures. Each of the sculptures tells a story to decipher inspired by art history, ancient fables or modern animation.

The title for the exhibit derives from the the suite “Le carnaval des animaux” by French composer Camille Saint Saëns. He famously translates animal attributes into music.

Among the more unusual sculptures are His Majestic Lion, traditional king of the animals, wearing the crown and armor of a great monarch in the style of Medici court sculptor Giambologna. The lion sits astride a rocking horse, a reference to his fleeting and jovial power.

In other displays, a cheetah rides a scooter to move faster, a giraffe stands on stilts to reach higher, and a kangaroo bounces on a pogo stick.

Okholm Skaarup’s diverse sources are at once light-hearted and highly researched. A Dancing Bear is patinated in vibrant Fabergé-like colors, dressed as the Ballets Russes star Vaslav Nijinsky, while a Dino Paleontologist discovers an unknown fossil in the sediment: the Flintstone’s Flintmobile.

These indoor and outdoor sculptures display the vanishing art of large-scale bronze casting. They are particularly inviting for young art enthusiasts, and rewarding to longtime students of art history.

Via Sotheby's…The world lost Dolly Parton today. A beloved singer-songwriter, era-defining actress, and generous philanthropist with a heart—and hair—the size of Texas, she wrote the soundtrack for the lives of many.

Always a vision of glamour, no matter her age, the Queen of Country also proved to be Andy Warhol’s perfect sitter. Dolly was never once caught without a full face of makeup and seemed to live her life in the same world of everlasting beauty that transfixed the artist.

In Warhol’s 1985 portrait, sold at Sotheby’s in 2010 for close to $1 million, Dolly is all but hidden by her iconic crown of platinum curls. She peers out at us with her distinct mixture of earnestness and amusement—always knowing more than she let on.

Swimsuits and comfort have not always enjoyed the closest relationship.

Cavalier Galleries marks its 40th anniversary this year, celebrating four decades of connecting collectors and communities with fine art while building a presence that now stretches from Palm Beach to New York, Greenwich and Nantucket.

The gallery’s relationship with Palm Beach began in 2010, when Cavalier first started exhibiting in the area. Eight years later, it established a permanent location on Worth Avenue, becoming part of the island’s expanding arts community.

MVA — short for Maison Vernhes Alliance — is a membership-based wine collective built around discovery over convenience. Capped at 600 members, it delivers a collection of small-batch, artisanal wines every two months from producers you won’t find on a typical retail shelf.

Once a wine is featured, it’s gone for good. Scarcity, along with the membership cap, makes this wine club membership unique.

The collective’s core is Maison Vernhes, a farmhouse in Val d’Orcia, a UNESCO World Heritage site in Tuscany.

Samples arrive there year-round from a global scouting network and every three months the team runs a blind-tasting week, pouring 50+ unlabeled wines. Only bottles earning unanimous approval from a panel of guest winemakers and two members make the cut — a deliberately palate-first process.

Founder Laurent Vernhes brings an interesting pedigree. He co-founded Tablet Hotels in 2000, a curated independent-hotel platform later acquired by Michelin in 2018 to power the MICHELIN Guide’s hotel recommendations.

Grandson of a winemaker from southwest France, Vernhes applies that same curatorial instinct to wine: find the exceptional, vet it rigorously and deliver it directly to members.
