AI VIDEO IS SHAKING UP IMAGE CREATION
Artificial intelligence is rapidly reshaping image creation and video production. What once required expensive cameras, lighting packages, production crews, and hours of editing can now begin with something as simple as a written prompt.
To put this in perspective…
In 1980, the Ikegami HL-79E three-tube Plumbicon camera was considered state of the art and cost more than $60,000. Professional video production was limited to organizations that could afford the equipment.
Then in 2009, Apple introduced the iPhone with video capability. Suddenly millions of people were producing and sharing video, helping fuel the explosion of YouTube and social media content. Today, a $1,900 smartphone produces video far superior to what the HL-79E could deliver decades ago.
Now AI video tools are taking things even further. Creators can generate visuals, motion graphics, and even entire scenes in seconds. In many ways, a full production studio now sits on a laptop. But access to technology does not automatically create effective communication.
The media landscape is now flooded with content that may look impressive technically but fails to engage audiences or tell a meaningful story. Technology alone does not build connection or trust.
Human creativity still matters. Great communication depends on strong ideas, compelling storytelling, and understanding your audience. AI can assist with production, but it cannot replace human imagination and strategic thinking.
At DigiWorks Media, we see AI as an expansion of the creative toolbox, not a replacement for the people behind the story. The camera is no longer the only gateway to visual storytelling. Increasingly, imagination is.
