Not every event is perfect. And honestly… that’s the part no one talks about.
The wow moments you see are real — but so is the chaos I prayed no one saw. The late nights, the exhaustion, the arguing with my brother mid-setup because one of us swore the sign was crooked (and the other swore it wasn’t). Sometimes we laugh it off two minutes later, and sometimes the car ride home is completely silent because we don’t even want to speak to each other. That’s real life when you work this closely with family.
People see the polished finish, but they don’t always see the behind-the-scenes: the rushing, the “wait, where did that piece go?” panic, the setups that don’t look like the vision board on the first try. And the truth is, sometimes things don’t come out exactly the way a client imagined. Sometimes we apologize, sometimes we redo, sometimes we stand there wondering how it even went wrong in the first place.
That’s business. It’s a lot of trial and error, a lot of “I’m sorry,” and a lot of figuring it out as we go. And it’s not always glamorous — in fact, most of the time it’s messy, stressful, and full of little battles no one ever posts about.
But here’s the thing: even with the mistakes, the stress, the imperfections… we always push through. We own it, we fix it, and somehow, through the chaos, the moments still come together. The smiles, the “wow” reactions, the memories that last — that’s what makes every bit of the chaos worth it.
